When I work with models, I like them to be like dolls. When I re-join the world, I tend to photograph people as one would photograph ants.

Nice. The headless figures and the guy on the corner come over as pretty disturbing, both looking as real as each other. 😉

Glad someone notices these things.
Great shots of the builders/workers, especially the photo of the fella keeping an eye on his tools on the trolley…

a focus on studio work might get you where you’d like to go, take some classes on lighting fashion, unless the ghastly overexposed look is what you’re after. this street style lacks depth, subject and quality

Thanks for writing. Different strokes for different folks. My influences are partly from antique wet plate photography among others in the surrealist circles of the 1920s and 1930s so yes, the style is intended and was done in post.
I’m intrigued to know more specifics regarding “depth, subject and quality.” I sincerely mean that. Criticism is among the best forms of education so elaboration is more than welcome. Thanks again!

I like the guy with the red helmet from above. He looks like he is walking the plank, and about to step off the edge. Was he?

The Highline is great! And a great example that NYC doesn’t always have to be a concrete jungle 🙂
