Wet Plate Memories # 2

This photo of the Gaines Mill battlefield (Civil War) was taken last year outside of Richmond. The house on the right is called the Watts house where pivotal events took place during this battle. Interestingly, it’s a private residence. Outside of his house, just down a ways a bit are cannons, obstacle fences (recreations) and earthworks. Any man would drool.

More about this an an image of WET PLATE MEMORIES #1 over HERE.

I overlaid a cement texture onto the photo, turned it (free transform in Photoshop), so the lines of cement was at an angle, then used motion blur to create the effect that it looked like the ghostly hint of bombshells raining over the scene. I really wanted to bring out the tree so that it was just as noticeable as the house since these two subjects have a long, long history together.
